Arrival and departure by public transportation – free of charge!
If you stay three nights or longer at a hotel in Appenzell and the surrounding area, the Appenzell AI tourism organization will provide you with free public transportation to and from the hotel.

Check-out
We would appreciate it if you could vacate your room by 11:00 a.m. at the latest. The hotel’s facilities and all amenities will, of course, remain available to you on the day of your departure. Changing rooms and lockers are available in the wellness center; suitcases for storage in the luggage room can be dropped off at the front desk; and bathrobes can be returned to the front desk of the wellness center upon departure.

Adapter
Travel adapters and various cell phone chargers are available at the front desk.

Allergies and Special Dietary Needs
Allergies and food intolerances are widespread these days. Many people have dietary restrictions and must pay close attention to their nutrition. To ensure you can still enjoy a full-course meal, you have the option to discuss your individual dietary needs with the kitchen. Or do you prefer a special diet? Appenzell Holiday Card
For stays of three nights or more, you will receive the Appenzell Holiday Card from us, offering many experiences and discounts. You can pick up the card and detailed information at the front desk.

Baby
Cribs, bathrobes, and slippers in various sizes are available. Please dial the “Housekeeping” extension on the phone.
The front desk will be happy to assist you in arranging a babysitter upon request. A changing table with accessories is available in the women’s restroom on the ground floor and on the first floor.

The water is heated using geothermal energy, and electricity is supplied by a PV system. To access the bathhouse and sauna (ages 16 and up), you will need the card attached to your room key.

Swimsuits/Swimwear
Did you forget your swimwear at home? We have a small selection available for you at the reception desk of the health center.

Bathrobe
Do you need a bathrobe in a different size? Please contact us at extension 252.

Train and Bus
The train and bus stations are located 200 meters from the hotel on the main road toward Appenzell.

Bank/ATM
The Appenzeller Kantonalbank is located 200 meters from the hotel on the main road toward Wasserauen.

Banquets
Our restaurants, the Blumenwerkstatt (24 guests) and the Hofhaus (16 guests), are ideal for aperitifs, receptions, banquets, and private events for up to 60 guests. We would be happy to handle the entire organization for you. Our F&B Manager, Simon Egli, will be happy to advise you.

Bed
Bed linens will be changed upon request if you place the “Dear Guest” note on your bed.

Library
You’ll find our library by the fireplace in the hotel lobby. You’ll find another selection of books in the outdoor library in the red boxes around the hotel. Feel free to take the books to your room and, if you haven’t finished reading them, take them home with you.

Flower Shop
Hours: Tuesday through Saturday, 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Ironing
Upon request, we will iron your clothes within an hour. To have your clothes picked up, please dial the direct number for “Housekeeping” on your phone.

Blanket
The housekeeper has additional blankets, down comforters, synthetic blankets (for guests with allergies), and wool blankets available. Please dial the housekeeper’s extension number on your phone to request additional bedding or a change of linens.

Shopping
The charming village of Appenzell is ideal for shopping and relaxation. We’d be happy to provide you with information at the front desk.

Transport
For longer distances, we offer a shuttle service. Prices and further information are available at the front desk.

Bicycles
Electric city bikes and electric mountain bikes are available in front of the hotel entrance. Please contact the front desk to use them. We also lend out bicycle helmets free of charge.

Fitness
The fitness room (medical training room) in the health center is open 24 hours a day. Another fitness room is available in the bath and sauna house (7:00 a.m. to 9:30 p.m.). Use is at your own risk; no liability is assumed.

Breakfast
Extensive buffet with live cooking station from 7:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., daily

Luggage service
Please dial the “Reception” extension on the phone if you need help with your luggage from the bellhop.

The front desk will be happy to assist you in arranging luggage storage with Appenzeller Bahnen or SBB.

Beverages
There are buffets on every floor. You are, of course, welcome to enjoy the teas, mineral water, soft drinks, fruit, and pastries offered there in the comfort of your room.

Additional beverages are available from 7:00 AM to 10:00 PM via the direct dial “Room Service” and from 10:00 PM to 7:00 AM via the direct dial “Reception.”

Golf
18-hole golf course in Gonten (8 km). As a hotel guest, you receive a 30% discount on green fees.
Golf is available with a golf license.

Dogs
Out of consideration for our health resort guests, pets are not permitted in the health center or in the restaurants. Dogs must be kept on a leash at all times. A dog shower is available in the garage. The front desk will be happy to assist you in arranging a dog sitter upon request.

Toiletries
Upon request, you can receive toothbrush sets, shaving kits, nail files, hairbrushes, sanitary napkins,
Tampons, etc. Please dial the direct number for housekeeping on your phone.

We offer free Wi-Fi access throughout the hotel (no password required).

Pillows
The housekeeper has down pillows, synthetic pillows (for allergy sufferers), millet mattresses, Elsa pillows, support pillows, and nursing pillows available. If you would like an additional pillow, please dial the direct line for the “housekeeper” on the phone so that the bedding can be replenished or replaced.

Luggage Storage
To free up space in your room, you can store your empty suitcases in the luggage room. Dial the direct number for “Housekeeping” on your phone and your suitcases will be picked up from your room.

For advice and to schedule appointments, please contact the reception desk at the health center. We ask that you arrive on time and in comfortable clothing for your booked treatments.

Herb Garden
The herb garden is located right next to the Flickflauder restaurant. You can find information about our herb garden in the green box at the entrance to the garden.

Charging station
There is a public charging station for electric cars in the hotel parking lot (for a fee). A charging port is available free of charge to our hotel guests in the underground parking garage. Please note that this is a slow-charging station.

Massages
For advice and to schedule appointments, please contact the reception desk at the health center. For booked massages, please arrive on time and in your bathrobe.

Minibar
Instead of a minibar, we offer buffets on every floor. If you need a refrigerator, for example to store medication, we will be happy to provide a small refrigerator in your room. Please dial the “Housekeeping” extension on the phone.

Lunch
12:00 PM–2:00 PM, daily

On Sundays, enjoy our popular lunch buffet from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM. Reservations are required; please dial the “Restaurant” extension on your phone.

Night bell
There is a night bell at the hotel entrance and at the garage entrance. The front desk is staffed around the clock.

Night light under the bed
If you do not wish to use this automated service, please call the housekeeper.

Sewing service
We can handle small sewing jobs upon request. Please dial the housekeeping department’s extension number on your phone.
We will take the item needing repair to the Goldener clothing store, which handles sewing repairs.

Parking
Our valet will be happy to park your vehicle for you.

Parking
The parking fee per night is CHF 8 for outdoor parking spaces and CHF 15 for underground parking spaces. Underground parking spaces can be reserved prior to arrival. Parking is free for stays of 5 nights or more.

Smoking
Smoking is permitted in the smoking lounge across from the bar (which is, of course, staffed).

Restaurants
There are several restaurants to choose from. The Schotten-Sepp-Stube has a rustic interior. The Veranda restaurant is classic and beautifully bright. The Flickflauder, another restaurant, features modern décor and is adorned with beautiful orchids. All restaurants offer the same menu.

Backpack & Umbrella
A backpack and an umbrella are provided in your room. You may use these free of charge during your stay. New ones are available for purchase at the front desk.

Secretarial Services
Upon request, we can handle secretarial tasks for you, such as sending emails, making photocopies, etc.
Please check in at the front desk.

Seminar Park
Our seminar center (long wooden building) is located across from the hotel. It offers various rooms, including a foyer for conferences and training sessions. Our seminar team will be happy to assist you.

Shuttle
Check-out from the hotel:

Departure from Landsgemeindeplatz:

The hotel shuttle is free of charge (Monday through Saturday, except on holidays). You can obtain a schedule at the front desk. For trips to Appenzell outside of the scheduled times, we charge CHF 15.00 per trip.

Play
The children’s playground is located on the lawn in front of the terrace.

Sports Equipment Rental
Nordic walking poles and snowshoes are available at the reception desk of the health center.

The “Dörig” sports shop in Weissbad sells hiking boots and hiking clothing, among other items, and rents out sleds, snowshoes, and much more. The shop is located 100 meters from the hotel on the main road toward Wasserauen.

Tips
We hope you enjoyed your stay with us! If you are particularly satisfied and would like to show your appreciation, you are welcome to leave a tip. There is a team tip jar in each of our departments, and a tip jar for the entire hotel team is available at the front desk. Each employee receives their share accordingly. Thank you very much.

Water
We have our own drinking water source of the highest quality on our property. The tap water is safe to drink.

Laundry service
Please place your dirty laundry in the plastic bag provided in the closet by 9:00 a.m. and write your name and room number on it. Then fill out the laundry list. You can leave both on the bed. The housekeeping team will take them.
Has your room already been cleaned? If so, please dial the direct number for “Housekeeping” so that your laundry bag can be picked up. You will receive your clean laundry back within 48 hours. We charge a 50% surcharge for express service.

Wake-up call
To request a wake-up call, please dial the direct number for “Reception” on your phone.

Wellness
For advice and to schedule appointments, please contact the reception desk at the health center.

We ask that you arrive on time and in your bathrobe for the treatments you have booked. You will be welcomed in the tea corner of the wellness center.

Payment
You have the option to make a payment at any time during your stay.
We accept cash in CHF and euros (change is given in CHF), MasterCard, Visa, Postcard, Maestro-CH, Maestro, American Express, and Jelmoli.

During your stay, you can have food and beverage charges and treatments added to your room bill or pay in cash.

If you wish to check out early, please provide us with your credit card details in advance.

Newspapers/Magazines
The latest daily newspapers are available for reading in the hotel library. Additional newspapers and magazines can be purchased at the front desk.

Upon request, we will bring your favorite newspaper or mail from home directly to your room. If your preferred newspaper or magazine is not in stock, we will of course obtain it for you during business hours in Appenzell.

Room Tour
If you would like a quick room check during dinner, including making the beds and drawing the curtains, please hang the “Dear Guest” sign on the outside of your room door.
