The culinary experience at Resort Hof Weissbad is defined by its origins, craftsmanship, and the unmistakable signature of Käthi Fässler. For nearly 30 years, our Innerrhoden-based head chef has been combining regional products, seasonal ingredients, and artisanal precision with warm hospitality.


Whether in the modern Flickflauder, the light-filled veranda, or the traditional Schotten-Sepp-Stube—each restaurant has its own character and invites you to enjoy special moments of indulgence.


A highlight is the 6-course "Surprise" gourmet menu by Käthi Fässler at Restaurant Flickflauder. Here, Swiss tradition and Appenzell roots are reinterpreted with creative touches. To round off the day, our bar offers selected wines, classic drinks, and an Appenzell Alpenbitter.

Käthi Fässler is Chef of the Year 2026/27

The Hof Weissbad Resort is delighted to receive a special award: Our head chef Käthi Fässler was named Chef of the Year 2026/27 by the Andrin Willi Hotel Rating . Since November 1, 1996, Käthi Fässler has shaped the culinary identity of our establishment. In 2026, we will celebrate her 30 years at Hof Weissbad—three decades filled with passion, craftsmanship, consistency, and the highest standards of quality. Dine in a modern and airy setting.


Our “Flickflauder”—the Appenzell word for “butterfly”—captivates with its transparency and the lightness of its architecture.


The view from every angle changes with the light, creating a unique atmosphere. In particular, the view of the lovingly tended herb garden naturally connects the indoor and outdoor areas. The herbs are freshly picked and used in the kitchen.


Our gourmet menu is served in a separate, exclusive area of the Flickflauder restaurant.

The comfortable wicker chairs on the lawn invite you to linger. Children can let off steam in the large park with a small playground, always within sight of their parents.

In the bistro, we treat you all day long to hot dishes from our varied bistro menu—fresh, seasonal, and prepared with care.

Our lunch menu features seasonal delicacies. Reservations recommended.

Monday through Saturday: 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM

Our little, charming gingerbread house.


Outside, the old, dark wooden facade still stands, while inside, a modern, fully equipped kitchen shines with the latest Miele appliances. The long, old pine table seats up to 14 people.


The ideal location for small family celebrations, special client events, strategy seminars and workshops, lectures, and cooking classes.


The base rental fee is CHF 250.00 (fully furnished, made up, including final cleaning).

During the day, our in-house florists create beautiful floral arrangements; in the evening, the venue—which is otherwise open to the public—can be rented for private events.

Herb Garden


Our herb garden is a place of vitality, full of scents, colors, and diversity—ideal for an aperitif with family, friends, or business partners. The garden was designed by the Alfred Vogel Foundation and, with its winding paths and a large, circular plaza, invites you to stroll and linger. Guided tours, aperitifs, or workshops can be booked individually by appointment.

Winter Garden


In winter, our open terrace overlooking the park transforms into an enclosed and heated winter garden with large floor-to-ceiling windows. The ideal place for a Christmas dinner or client event.


SPECIAL: In January, the park will be illuminated for two weeks as part of the "Appenzell Light Magic" event. Combine your corporate event with the Light Magic and experience an event that will create lasting memories.
