Since March 7, 2026, Hof Weissbad AG has been operating the Gonten Golf Restaurant—a special place where culinary delights and nature come together in the most beautiful way. Located right on the golf course, it welcomes you with a wonderful ambiance featuring plenty of light, warm materials, and an atmosphere that is just as relaxed as the view is impressive.

Outside, the spacious terrace invites you to linger: a small section is covered, while the majority of the area is open—offering a magnificent panoramic view of the Appenzell countryside. Whether after a round of golf, for a delightful outing, or as an atmospheric setting for your event: at the Gonten Golf Restaurant, every break feels like a vacation.

From Saturday, March 7, to Sunday, November 8:

Monday through Saturday, 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.
Sunday 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

In case of rain, thunderstorms, or snowfall, we reserve the right to close the restaurant at 8:00 p.m.

With the new building completed in 2012, architect Sepp Fässler and interior designer Walter Pedemonte have succeeded in combining modern architecture with a cozy atmosphere.

Three inviting and cozy dining rooms, as well as a spacious terrace with a magnificent view, offer the perfect setting for every taste and can be ideally tailored to your needs:

Golf Tournaments

Around 60 golf tournaments take place annually at the Gonten Golf Course. For tournament groups, lunch and dinner for 20 to 100 people can be arranged—during these events, the restaurant is reserved exclusively for the group.

In collaboration with Tina-Dog Dog Training School Individual dog-sitting can be arranged upon request. Your dog will be personally cared for while you’re on the golf course and is in good hands.

Pétanque Court at Gonten Golf Course.

The new pétanque court is now open.

Since Saturday, July 25, 2026, our new pétanque court has been inviting guests to enjoy friendly games with family and friends—or to take a relaxing break before or after a round of golf.

With a little skill, the goal is to get the metal balls as close as possible to the small target ball. A simple and fun game for young and old alike, where the shared experience takes center stage.

A heartfelt thank you goes to our regional partners: The woodwork was carried out by Appenzeller Holzbau GmbH, and the civil engineering work by Alpstein Bau + Technik AG.

Golf guests can choose from the following accommodations at Resort Hof Weissbad: the Lodge Hof Weissbad (3-star) or the Hotel Hof Weissbad (4-star Superior). Bookable with breakfast, half-board, or as part of a golf package.

The Gonten Golf Course is located about 8 km (approx. 12 minutes) from Weissbad. A shuttle service between Gonten and Weissbad is available upon request.

Note: The rooms previously located at the golf course are no longer available for booking.
