From March 7, 2026 Hof Weissbad AG runs the golf restaurant in Gonten – a special place where enjoyment and nature come together in the most beautiful way. Located directly on the golf course, you will be welcomed by a wonderful ambience with lots of light, warm materials, and an atmosphere that is as relaxed as the view is impressive.
Outside, the spacious terrace invites you to linger: a small part is covered, while the largest area is open – with a magnificent panoramic view of the Appenzell countryside. Whether after a round of golf, for an enjoyable outing, or as an atmospheric setting for your event: at the Gonten Golf Restaurant, every break feels like a vacation.

With the new building completed in 2012, architect Sepp Fässler and interior designer Walter Pedemonte have succeeded in combining modern architecture with comfort.
Three inviting and cozy dining rooms and a spacious terrace with a magnificent view offer the perfect place for every taste, which can be ideally adapted to your needs:
- Restaurant (70 seats) – open, inviting, and perfect for everyday enjoyment
- Fireplace & lounge area (20 seats) – can be locked off if required or desired
- Stube (30 seats) – also lockable, ideal for groups and seminars
- Terrace (120 seats)

Golf tournaments
Around 60 golf tournaments are held at the Gonten golf course every year. Lunch and dinner for 20 to 100 people can be arranged for tournament groups – in this case, the restaurant is reserved for private parties.
We offer the perfect package for your event and ensure that everything runs smoothly and that your event will be a lasting memory.

Staying overnight at Resort Hof Weissbad
Golf guests can stay at the Resort Hof Weissbad: the Lodge Hof Weissbad (3 stars) or the Hotel Hof Weissbad (4-star superior). Bookable with breakfast, half board, or a golf package.
The Gonten golf course is located around 8 km (approx. 12 minutes) from Weissbad. A shuttle between Gonten and Weissbad is available on request.
