Since March 7, 2026, Hof Weissbad AG has been operating the golf restaurant in Gonten—a special place where culinary delights and nature come together in the most beautiful way. Located right on the golf course, you’ll be welcomed by a beautiful setting with plenty of light, warm materials, and an atmosphere that’s just as relaxed as the view is impressive.
Outside, the spacious terrace invites you to linger: a small section is covered, while the largest area is open—offering a magnificent panoramic view of the Appenzell countryside. Whether after a round of golf, for a delightful outing, or as an atmospheric setting for your event: at the Gonten Golf Restaurant, every break feels like a vacation.

Opening Hours
From Saturday, March 7 to Sunday, November 8:
- Monday through Saturday 8:00 AM to 10:00 PM
- Sunday 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM
In case of rain, thunderstorms, or snowfall, we reserve the right to close the restaurant at 8:00 PM.
In case of uncertain weather, we welcome your inquiries at 071 795 40 62.

With the new building completed in 2012, architect Sepp Fässler and interior designer Walter Pedemonte succeeded in combining modern architecture with a cozy atmosphere.
Three inviting and cozy dining rooms, as well as a spacious terrace with a magnificent view, offer the perfect setting for every taste, which can be ideally tailored to your needs:
- Restaurant (70 seats) – open, inviting, and perfect for daily enjoyment
- Fireplace & lounge area (20 seats) – can be locked if needed or requested
- Stube (30 seats) – also lockable, ideal for groups & seminars
- Terrace (120 seats)

Golf Tournaments
Around 60 golf tournaments take place annually at the Gonten Golf Course. For tournament groups, lunch and dinner for 20 to 100 people are available—in this context, the restaurant is reserved for private events.
For your event, we offer the perfect all-inclusive package and ensure that everything runs smoothly so your event will be a lasting memory.

Stay at Resort Hof Weissbad
Golf guests have access to accommodations at Resort Hof Weissbad: the Lodge Hof Weissbad (3-star) or the Hotel Hof Weissbad (4-star Superior). Bookable with breakfast, half-board, or as part of a golf package.
The Gonten Golf Course is located about 8 km (approx. 12 minutes) from Weissbad. A shuttle between Gonten and Weissbad is available upon request.
