Since November 1, 1996, Käthi Fässler has shaped the culinary identity of our establishment. In 2026, we will celebrate her 30 years of service at Hof Weissbad—three decades filled with passion, craftsmanship, consistency, and the highest standards of quality.
As early as 2008, the Appenzell native was named by GaultMillau Chef of the Year 2009 . Since then, the Hof Weissbad resort has consistently held 16 GaultMillau points. Her cuisine stands for regionality, seasonality, high-quality products, and creative touches, without losing sight of the roots of Swiss and Appenzell cuisine.
In addition to her culinary achievements, Käthi Fässler is also a influential leader and mentor. She oversees a team of around 35 employees and has trained over 50 young chefs during her career at Hof Weissbad. Under her leadership, the kitchen at Hof Weissbad has developed into a renowned talent incubator for the Swiss culinary arts.
Despite this national recognition, Käthi Fässler prefers to stay where her heart lies: in the kitchen, surrounded by her team, and close to the ingredients. It is precisely this down-to-earth nature that makes her so cherished by guests, staff, and colleagues alike.
